On September 26th it will mark 10 years since our Grandpa Swenson passed away from Alzheimer's disease. The impact this disease had on not only him, but my entire family, is astounding. It's hard to watch someone you cherish battle a disease there is no cure for, yet.
So, please walk with our team in this year's Step Forward Give Hope Alzheimer's Walk, to help people facing Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia.
Although Alzheimer's is not a normal part of aging, the risk of developing the disease increases with age. Current research from the National Institute on Aging indicates that the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease doubles every five years beyond age 65, with one in two people over 85 affected.
The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin helps people in Wisconsin as they face every stage of this disease, a commitment they have maintained for more than 30 years. Help our team reach our goal by making a gift today.
