For the Love of Belva and Alice
To our dear family and friends,
Due to the pandemic, this year's walk, originally scheduled for September, is virtual. Although we will not be physically together, we will be together in spirit and in our desire to see an end to Alzheimer's Disease.
Our team "For the Love of Belva and Alice," proudly walks in honor of our mother and aunt, two sisters victimized by one disease. Please support us again this year, as we walk for a cure.
Two sisters, Belva Machan Thompson and Alice Machan Alexander lost the battle to Alzheimer's Disease, as have other members of our family and likely yours too.
Although Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging, the risk of developing the illness rises with age. Current research from the National Institute on Aging indicates that the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease doubles every five years beyond age 65, with one in two people over 85 affected.
The Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin helps people as they face every stage of this disease. The Alliance assists those afflicted, as well as the family members, and care workers. The organization also monetarily supports research into better treatment for this disease.
We ask that you donate to our team "For the Love of Belva and Alice" so that the Alliance can continue to support all those dedicated to treatment, prevention, and a cure for Alzheimer's Disease.
Thank you for your support and your prayers
The team of "For the Love of Belva and Alice"
