Walk with me in the Step Forward Give Hope Alzheimer’s Walk to help people facing Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
Although Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging, the risk of developing the illness rises with age. Current research from the National Institute on Aging indicates that the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease doubles every five years beyond age 65, with one in two people over 85 affected.
The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin helps people in Wisconsin as they face every stage of this disease, a commitment they have maintained for over 30 years. I have been volunteering with the Alliance since the beginning of this summer and have been touched by their mission. Through virtual memory cafes, support groups, and early memory programs, the Alliance creates an opportunity for people living with dementia and their families to form connections with others in the community also experiencing the dementia journey. The joy and hope these groups have shared with the participants as well as with volunteers like me is truly invaluable.
Help me reach my goal by making a gift today. I sincerely appreciate your generosity! Thank you!
