Let's Walk for Lillian!
Please consider supporting Lily and I in the Step Forward Give Hope Alzheimer’s Walk to help people facing Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia.
As you may know, my mom (Lillian) passed away the day after Easter. She suffered from Alzheimer's and dementia for the past several years. It was heartbreaking watching someone who wanted to give so much slowly lose the ability to give to others.
It's not just memory loss. From the loss of speech, to the loss of ability to get dressed, read the newspaper or watch a TV, pick up a fork to eat, drink a cup of coffee, or to even open a card or letter, the disease took away all of the freedoms that we take for granted every day. And finally it took away the ability of her body to remember to breathe.
Help my daughter Lily and I give the Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin the financial support they need to help others going through this disease. I know that Lillian would want us to do this. I know that she would want us to help others.
Although Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging, the risk of developing the illness rises with age. Current research from the National Institute on Aging indicates that the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease doubles every five years beyond age 65, with one in two people over 85 affected.
The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin helps people in Wisconsin as they face every stage of this disease, a commitment they have maintained for over 30 years.
Help me reach my goal by making a gift today.
