Welcome to My Personal Page
Walk with me in the Step Forward Give Hope Alzheimer’s Walk to help people facing Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. It is a virtual event this year. And sadly, the pandemic has resulted in even more complexity and stress for caregivers and individuals touched by dementia, their families, and caregivers. The Alzheimer's and Dementia Alliance continues to provide online education and support programs and consultations by phone.
Although Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging, the risk of developing the illness rises with age. Current research from the National Institute on Aging indicates that the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease doubles every five years beyond age 65, with one in two people over 85 affected.
The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin helps people in Wisconsin as they face every stage of this disease, a commitment they have maintained for over 30 years. As a medical social worker in a geriatrics clinic, I rerfer patients and families to this agency routinely, because I trust they will connect with a compassionate and knowledgeable person who will help them feel that they are not alone.
Help me reach my goal by making a gift today.
