Welcome to My Personal Page
Walk with me in the Alzheimer’s Walk to help people facing Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. This is a important fundraiser for me as my Dad and Aunt both had Dementia and Alzheimer's. I look forward to raising money and walking every year, but miss not having my Mom here to walk with us.
More than 5.4 million Americans are facing Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. That number is expected to reach epidemic proportions over the next 40 years as one in eight baby boomers develop the disease. The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance provides local support to Alzheimer’s patients and their care partners through every stage of the disease. While there is no cure yet, they are working to help people maintain a better quality of life at every stage of the disease.Although Alzheimer's disease is not a normal part of aging, the risk of developing the illness rises with age. Current research from the National Institute on Aging indicates that the prevalence of Alzheimer's disease doubles every five years beyond age 65, with one in two people over 85 affected.
The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance of Wisconsin helps people in Wisconsin as they face every stage of this disease, a commitment they have maintained for 30 years.
