Welcome to Curt's webpage
My family and I are walking in memory of my Dad, Greg Peternell, who passed away from Alzheimer's Disease in 2010. Though he is missed every single day by his family and friends, this yearly walk is a great occasion to get together and walk in his honor. The Alzheimer's Walk has become a tradition in my family to remember my Dad, Sweet Aunt Peggy, and both Grandmas, all of whom were impacted by the disease. Hopefully, through events like this we will see an eventual cure for this terrible disease.
Over the 7 years my Dad had Alzheimer's Disease, there was a steady decline in what he was capable of doing on his own. But, what we really came to appreciate was how many of the important things stayed the same. He still had a sweet tooth, still liked the outdoors, still recognized family (especially my Mom), and could always get us to smile.
If you are interested in supporting my Dad's Alzheimer's Walk team we certainly appreciate it. We'd love to have you join the team, throw on a Bud's Buds t-shirt, and join us in Madison. From the pre-walk donuts to the post-walk lunch, it is always a good time. If walking isn't your thing, you can also use this page to support Alzheimer's research with a donation. Either way, thank you very much for supporting my Dad's team this year!
Curt, Sara, Luke, and Rachel Peternell
